East Lamar is one of a kindMeet Lamar Bowman

Lamar Bowman, founder of East Lamar Boarding & Training and Neighbors Dog Park, is an East Austin native with a deep passion for dogs and their owners. He discovered his love for canines while learning to train his first Yorkie, BJ. It was while getting to know BJ that he decided he wanted to further his training and knowledge of all things canine!

Lamar chose to go through a 7 month training program through the Austin Animal Center which taught him the ins and outs of training, how to administer medication, leading dogs through rehabilitation, bathing skills, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and much more.

Lamar only uses complete positive reinforcement training, which means no negative talk, refraining from punishing, yelling or using the word “no”. He believes in redirection and above all, remaining consistent and leading with love.

Lamar has over 10 years of experience training and caring for dogs and is CPR certified as well as being a CGC evaluator with the AKC. He has extensive experience managing a dog park and prides himself on knowing all of the dogs he interacts with on an intimate level. He firmly believes that the relationship between a dog and their human is essential to projecting love in the world!
